My house is not a thing of wood or stone, But consciousness of all-pervading Love. Its firm foundation is the rock of Christ, Whereon I hold my sacred, hourly tryst.
What urgent thing before my hand Requires my work today, What call for faithful thought and deed? I would make no delay. A quiet voice within reflects Obedience as Mind directs.
Out of the night of doubt and pain and terror The healing words, in answer to my call, Came in swift, gentle, urgent reassurance Of Love supreme, alone, encircling all: Be not afraid, beloved child of Zion, It is unreal—the lie, the dream, the fear— For only Life and Truth and good are present In God's eternal, perfect now and here. Arise! Take up this bed and claim full freedom; Behold the Light that never can grow dim And know that now, even as in the beginning, You walk in holy sinlessness in Him.
In the quiet of waiting humility, With physical senses still, Clearly I hear the voice of Love; Gladly I yield my will To the will of our Father-Mother God And find His glorious plan In the radiant realm of reality For me, His idea, man. How sweet to know security In His enfolding good, To let Him guard and guide my steps To heaven, understood.
Loose them from human bondage—leave them free. Teach them to heed divine authority, For only God is Parent, and He knows Just where the swallow nests, the lily grows.
Awake ! The dawn of Truth is here, Proclaiming, "Man is free, The image of his Maker now— Not something that will be. " Let us accept this precious light; God's law of good is man's own right.
