"Where dwellest thou?"

From the April 1952 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Beyond Jordan's flood the Master walked. "Behold
The Lamb of God!" the two disciples heard.
"Master, where dwellest thou?" The insistent word
Repeats itself in men's hearts, as of old.

Where dwells the Christ that meets mankind's great need?
Where lies Truth, the fundamental cause?
In mindless matter, cruel material laws?
In human doctrine, theory, or creed?

The heart receptive hears Love's tender plea.
In God's eternal Science Truth abides.
Find there the healing Christ, reality.
As in the former day, oh, come and see.

Man lives in God, in boundless Mind and Soul;
He is not finite thought or senseless clay.
Held in God's law of ceaseless harmony
Man is His likeness—spiritual, whole.
