GETHSEMANE

On that portentous night in far Gethsemane Not one was found to watch and pray with thee. Oh, fatal lethargy of false, material sense That could not give this single evidence Of love and loyalty.

THE PRODIGAL SON'S RETURN

I have come home again unto my Father's house—at last Returned to be a son! I have repented of the past— The squandered years, the paltry husks of joys meant but for swine; And now I humbly come to claim the glory that is mine. I have come home, O Father, for the dream of sinful sense Has vanished at the healing touch of Mind's omnipotence.

THE LAMP

Inspired thought, with all its spiritual power, Bestows on human consciousness each hour The light of Truth. Within the glow of its benevolent ray, Abiding peace exemplifies each day The power of Truth.

HEALING PEACE

From all the nations I will gather Those who hearken to My voice. I know the thoughts I think toward you, Thoughts of peace.

OBEDIENCE AND HUMILITY

Then went he down and dipped, Not once, nor twice, nor thrice. But seven times, And he was cleansed.

THE WAITING HOUR

With what rich love each waiting hour is filled! There is no straining to scan days to be When every hour knows God's munificence. In sweet communion darkening fears are stilled And eyes tear-dimmed glimpse a new radiancy.
