Broken and fettered in our human stress, Entangled in the snares of earthly fear, The voice of Truth bids us be whole and free, To rise and walk with Love forever near. Or walking on the waves of human self, Sinking beneath the load of error's pride, We hear the Christly voice, and courage comes, To find Love's healing presence at our side.
Father-Mother God, I ask Consecration for my task; With humility I pray, May I grow in grace today— Grace enabling me to see What another's need may be. Father-Mother God, I seek To be gracious, gentle, meek; May the light of Love divine Daily through my thinking shine, Lightening the heavy part Of another's burdened heart.
If we would know the joy of answered prayer, If we would enter in, the heavenly kingdom share, We must hold thought to God, His precepts live, And offer others all there is to give. We must be pure in heart, be selfless, have no fear If we would know, If we would know the joy of answered prayer.
Dear God, I long To find Thy joy; Thy wondrous truth to comprehend; to drink From Love's full fount—and to forgive The seeming wrongs that hide Thy law; To sow the seeds of life and love, To quiet fear and lift the burdened heart. Dear God, I long To gain a clearer sense of Love, To conquer self, and, gently as the dove, Impart true peace; To lift my thought unto the hills of light, Whence come Thy gladness, majesty, and might.
Infinite Mind, great source of all perfection, Thou art man's Life throughout eternity. Thou All of Love, we know Thee by reflection.
When thought is pure it rings as true As faithful friend and honor do. Like music clear in ocean shells; Like innocence, in children dwells; With utter charm forever new.
The nature of the gift that Abel offered Through God's approval stands revealed as good; And, since Love knoweth no respect of persons, Cain could have won praise also, if he would. Had he, in preparation for his giving, Put selfless love and pure devotion first, He had not listened to that envious hatred Which stained his record with a deed accursed.
Oh , lift the dimness from my eyes, That more of loveliness I see; May I discern the good that lies In all the years that are to be. And though a host, to my dismay, Encamp around me, I desire No mortal aid, but only pray To see the chariots of fire.
