SERVE HIM

From the September 1938 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and gladness,
This is the day which His wisdom hath made;
Silence the fears which would hinder achievement,
Service is courage, serene, undismayed.

Enter His courts giving praise for His goodness,
Sing and rejoice for the victory won;
Service is learning the way of at-one-ment—
Seeing that God and His likeness are one.

Enter His presence with pure adoration,
Serve Him by faith that can wait and be still;
Lifted from earth, and companioned by angels,
Service is knowing no law but His will.

Dwell in His kingdom of infinite beauty,
Serve Him by seeing man perfect through grace;
Service is sharing with all by reflection
That which the pure heart beholds face to face.
