TRUTH'S DAWNING

When anxious thoughts like dark birds seem To cross my evening sky, I know they are but phantoms grim, And lift my thoughts on high. And with the dawn, forebodings cease, Truth shines upon my way — The truth that calms and gives me peace, And blesses me each day.

WITHIN THE SECRET PLACE

There is a voice so gentle, calm, and still, That quiets human fear and human will; The noise of many waters ne'er can quench The still, small voice of Love's omnipotence. When I am tempted from the path to stray It whispers, "Trust in God — He knows the way!" Anger, remorse, revenge yield to His will, And all is sweet, and calm, and fresh, and still! Ah! no disturbance, passion, fear, nor strife, Can interfere with all-harmonious Life.

CONFIDENCE

" Let not your heart be troubled. " I can sing As free as any bird that's on the wing.

THE WAY OF PEACE

Love one another! This is the signpost at the road of peace, A pleasant path where love goes all the way. It is a road that error cannot find Or much less travel.

"WAIT ON THE LORD"

"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the "Lord. " — Psalms 27:14.

MILLENNIUM DAWN

Through all our days of sorrow There sounds the certain strain Of God's eternal kindness, Of Mind's supreme demesne. Through all our tears and trials, Through all the hours forlorn, A glorious faith is beaming, A joyous hope is born.

DAY BY DAY

The Mind that hitherto has planned my footsteps, Telling me where to go and what to do, Will still impart intelligence sufficient To guide me safely all my journey through. In Soul I find a sweet and calm assurance Of Love's protecting care throughout the day.

LORD, GIVE ME GRACE

Lord, give me grace To face each newborn day with high intent; Encased within the armor of Thy love To meet each seeming foe with quiet strength, And prove Thy truth is law. Grant me serenity of heart And peace that cannot be disturbed, Then with compassion may I see each fault That mortal man presents, unreal, And know Thy image is untouched, secure.

MY PRAYER

This is my prayer, dear Lord, that I may learn The beauty of humility, and yearn For that deep faith that will secure abide, Challenging worldly arrogance and pride. Help me to see the flower where the weed Of mortal mind would fain its error breed; And may I too dispense the perfume rare Of kindliness, to lighten earthly care.
