TRUTH'S DAWNING

From the May 1940 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When anxious thoughts like dark birds seem
To cross my evening sky,
I know they are but phantoms grim,
And lift my thoughts on high.
And with the dawn, forebodings cease,
Truth shines upon my way —
The truth that calms and gives me peace,
And blesses me each day.

For Truth and Love know nought of fear,
And I, as God's own child,
Can only feel His perfect peace,
Undimmed by storm clouds wild.
So every dawn more lovely seems,
As I go on my way
With gratitude to God, who guides
And blesses me each day.
