"WAIT ON THE LORD"

From the May 1940 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the "Lord." — Psalms 27:14.

Wait on the Lord, O troubled heart;
Lift up thy voice and sing.
Offer the sacrifice of joy;
Let praise thy earnest thought employ,
And hope its tribute bring.

Remember thy rich heritage —
Abundant good is thine!
The Father keepeth all thy ways;
Hath He not blessed thy yesterdays,
And proved His love divine?

In gratitude look through the mists
Of darkening mortal thought.
Let thy gaze rest on Horeb's height;
Good is thy God, and God is Light.
This truth the Master taught.

Before thee lies the upward path;
With courage forward go.
Strengthen thy trust in Love's great power;
Learn well this lesson hour by hour,
And true contentment know.
