Testimonies of Healing
I HAD A GROWTH on the side of my face for a couple of years that started small, but soon after my husband and I moved to a new community, began to enlarge. Initially I ignored it, until it started to worsen and the picture became quite alarming.
MY MOTHER AND I had been at hammer and tongs ever since I decided to be an actor. Eventually I stopped going home.
AFTER ALL THE Thanksgiving guests had gone home and the leftovers had been put away, I congratulated myself on having shown restraint. Though a big fan of homemade stuffing and pumpkin pie, I had somehow managed to eat in moderation and not let fear of calories and overindulgence rule the day.
IN THE FALL OF my sophomore year in college, I had one of the busiest weeks of my life. I had volunteered to help at a debate tournament for an entire weekend, which would be followed by a full week of projects, papers, and tests.
IN THE REGION of Mexico where I live, late August through early October is the season of thunderstorms and floods. A variety of serious illnesses, and sometimes epidemics, are attributed to this weather.
RECENTLY I RENOVATED the bathrooms in our house. As the house is 44 years old, the bricks and mortar are exceptionally strong, and it was a large task.
ONE WEDNESDAY afternoon, I began experiencing a headache that became more intense as the day wore on. At the time I was serving as the organist in a Southern California Christian Science church about 45 minutes away from my home.

Recently, I had a healing of a physical ailment that alerted me to the importance of mentally challenging the assertions, particularly in the media, that we are vulnerable to certain diseases as we age and that modern medicine is the only solution.
I was touring a puppet show with my husband in our neighboring country, New Zealand, two years ago. It was my dream job and I was incredibly grateful for the opportunity.
