Testimonies of Healing
I STARTED SMOKING as a teenager. After about 15 years, I wanted to be free of cigarettes.
SOME YEARS AGO, I was living in Berlin and had to take the subway almost daily. At one point there were posters all over the subway stations and inside the cars calling attention to a spreading flu epidemic.
I HAD MADE what I thought would be a routine visit to the Registry of Motor Vehicles to renew my driver's license, as I'd done since I got my first license in 1934. Only this time, I didn't pass my eye exam, and I would now need to wear glasses while driving.
NEARLY 20 YEARS AGO, I discovered a lump in my breast. Terrified that it might be cancer, I quickly turned to God for help.
I WOULD LIKE TO ADD MY VOICE, along with my wife's, in testimony to God's great goodness and care for His children. It was gratifying to be a witness and a participant in the healings described by my wife.
IN 1973, I was suddenly taken ill with pneumonia and hospitalized. After I spent a week in the hospital, the doctor sent me home with medication and, after several weeks, I finally regained my health.
THREE SUMMERS AGO, while I was working as the corral program head at a Christian Science camp, I experienced a healing that taught me the power of divine Love and God's care. It was the first day of a new session, and we had assigned a horse to each camper.
WHEN I WAS DIAGNOSED with degenerative rheumatoid arthritis, the medical specialist said I would become extremely weak and would eventually not be able to move on my own or care for myself. Shortly after, when the symptoms worsened, the doctor prescribed medication so I could withstand the pain, but he said there was no treatment he knew of that could cure the disease.
MANY YEARS AGO I had a swelling at the base of my spine. Off and on the area bled somewhat, along with other forms of discharge.
AFTER I STARTED GRADUATE SCHOOL in the fall of 1997, my health deteriorated suddenly and rapidly. Although the condition was never medically diagnosed, the issue seemed to be heart related.
