Testimonies of Healing
Nearing the end of my second pregnancy, the kind family doctor informed me that our baby boy was in a breech position. He knew I was a Christian Scientist and asked me to pray about it.
Over the past year, I have been learning a lot about God being the only cause from the textbook of Christian Science, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I have also been learning that if something doesn’t come from God, then it’s my divine right to completely dismiss it (see, for example, page 390 of Science and Health ).
In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy writes, “If Spirit or the power of divine Love bear witness to the truth, this is the ultimatum, the scientific way, and the healing is instantaneous” ( p. 411 ).
While climbing the base of the Eiffel Tower in Paris with my husband many years ago, I suddenly panicked. The higher we went, the more terrified I became, until I was so overwhelmed I had to go back down.
When I went to an eye doctor for new glasses, he examined my eyes and told me I had strong evidence of a degenerative eye disease. He recommended medical treatment in hopes of preventing a gradual loss of vision.
The author proved that there is neither a beginning nor an end to our identity, and we are never without our Father-Mother God.
As the author prayed “to gain more humility and to appreciate each quality of God expressed” in her home, she overcame discouragement and experienced healing.
One fall after raking leaves and pulling a thick sweater over my head, I realized that there was something in my eye. On examination, I saw the end of a piece of a very thin wire embedded in the dark iris of my eye.
Recently I heard someone tell of a healing they had while being cared for by a Christian Science nurse, and it made me realize how grateful I am for several healings that I’ve had with the support of these cherished women and men in the Christian Science movement. Like the good Samaritan in Christ Jesus’ story in the Bible, they came to me where I was.
Late in 2019 , I developed a respiratory problem that made breathing difficult. Also, about this time, one of my legs became swollen and uncomfortable to walk on.
