Testimonies of Healing
I live in Tanzania, in East Africa. On December 21, 2013, I spent the day just fine, doing my duties at home, as usual.
When this author felt flu symptoms coming on, she relied on Christian Science and was healed very quickly.
Early last year, I carried my painting supplies down into a friend’s basement and realized that I’d done it without pain. I felt so free that I turned around and went back up and down the stairs again with delight.
One summer a number of years ago, a couple of friends invited me to spend a week with them at their vacation condo in Portugal. I was delighted to go, but by the time we arrived, I was feeling very ill with widespread pain and extreme fatigue.
Last summer after church, I went out to our backyard to set up a sprinkler on the lawn. I was headed back to the house, when a board that was lying on the ground caught the hem of my pants, throwing me face first onto the concrete.
For many years I suffered from allergies. I lived near a lake with trees and flowers that sent me into a tailspin each new “allergy season”—which is what I had long since convinced myself the season was called, as my father had also suffered throughout the spring with allergies.
I was introduced to Christian Science when I was in middle school. At that time, I suffered from nosebleeds whenever I stayed in direct sunlight too long, or when the day was particularly hot.
On Super Bowl Sunday early last year, as I was entering church for the service, I tripped on the icy sidewalk and fell heavily, landing full-force on my face. I had no time to brace myself for the fall—in fact, I hadn’t even felt the sensation of falling—and heard a loud crunching sound in my head.
I awoke one morning a year and a half ago with pain in my tooth. Thoughts of needing a root canal came, and though I tried not to let them worry me, with every passing hour the tooth became more painful.
One day several years ago I noticed a small bump on my shoulder. I was very worried about it, and I called my Christian Science teacher to pray with me.
