Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

All that we are is the result of what we have thought; it is founded on our thoughts, it is made up of our thoughts. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him like a shadow that never leaves him.

SCRIPTURE LEADINGS

"Blessed are the poor in spirit. " Humility , with its attendant receptiveness, leaves open way for the workings of the holy Spirit.

"CHOOSE YE."

The seed sown twenty years ago has taken root, and has now become a tree. Already birds of ill-omen, as well as of promise, seek to lodge in its branches, and clamor for its fruit.

Is the Title "Christian Science" Legitimate?

Investigation and candor are handmaidens of Justice. To be searched and understood, is the only chance for a true Theism.

The appearance of nature is nearly always, not false, but illusive, and our first interpretations of natural phenomena usually are the reverse of the reality. This is the wisdom of creation—the secret of the world; else knowledge would be immediate, and man a mere eye for seeing.

WHAT WE READ

It has been said, that one may get an accurate idea of an individual's character by the books he reads. For the perfect understanding of truth, I would rather have one thought, clear and transparent as crystal, than volumes wherein the truth appears occasionally as a borrowed light, to be obscured or denied for the greater part of the way.

Truth is manifest in unity of statement, quality and proof; error is found in multiplicity of statements, lack of basis, no lack of duplicity. Truth is born of Light; error is the story of a serpent.

"THOU HAST BEEN FAITHFUL OVER A FEW THINGS."

If people would confine their talk to subjects only that are profitable, that which St. John informs us took place once in heaven would happen very frequently on earth, silence for the space of half an hour.

THE MINISTRY OF PRAYER

" That prayer which does not succeed in moderating one wish, in changing the passionate desire into still submission, the anxious, tumultuous expectation into silent surrender, is no true prayer, and proves that we have not the spirit of true prayer. That life is most holy in which there is least of petition and desire, and most of waiting upon God; that in which petition most often passes into thanksgiving.

PREJUDICE

The mistaken idea people entertain as to what Christian Science is, can only be accounted for in one way—a prejudice, which amounts to ignorance. Willing to pass judgment, yet unable to overcome a narrow-minded prejudice enough to study into the Science.
