Putting on record insights into the practice of Christian Science.

SCIENCE AND CHRISTIANITY

At a time when Christians are involved in discussing the need for greater unity, it is not unusual for Christian Scientists to consider carefully the place that Christian Science occupies in the Christian community. They realize that while this Science necessarily excludes itself from controversies over doctrines, creeds, ceremonies, and rituals, which tend to separate one denomination from another, Science in no way departs from Christianity as Christ Jesus taught and established it.

Resurrection for a modern world

This author writes, “Do we love enough to give the world our silent assurance that mankind's needs are understood and that they will be met? If we do, the world will be a better place this Easter, and it will continue to become better.”

DISARMING ANIMAL MAGNETISM

According to Christian Science, the deep sleep of Adam, described in Genesis in the allegorical account of material creation, symbolizes the first appearing of magnetism to human thought. OVERCOMING OBSTACLES

TRUTH includes a perfect universe embraced in the understanding of one infinite Mind. In Truth there are no obstacles.

THE APPROACH THAT HEALS

AT times everyone finds himself confronted with evil and realizes that he must overcome it. Christian Science provides a healing approach in every situation, great or small, universal or individual.

THE "SECRET PLACE"

It is not unusual for children to fix up a place to which they can go and be by themselves. It may be an improvised shack or a house up in a tree.

DESTROYING SIN'S EGO

Suffering can be overcome by destroying the suppositional ego that declares the necessity for sin. This ego is the Adam-dream, and it includes the sinning dreamer called mortal man.

THE NONEXISTENCE OF EVIL

Nonexistence is a strong term. It is a radical term.

TO BUILD A CHURCH

Where shall we build it? How shall it be designed? Whom shall we engage as architect and builder? How large shall it be? How shall we finance it? These are a few of the questions with which a church membership may begin to consider a new church edifice. But there is one question that provides the key to the success of the entire project.
