In the eleventh chapter of John's Gospel we read of one of the most remarkable healings recorded in the Scriptures, namely, the resurrection from the dead of Lazarus, a friend of Jesus. Only a metaphysician of the highest order could have overcome the opposition and annulled the false material laws which contributed to the death and burial of Lazarus.

In this restless age of speed and gadgets, technological wonders and released physical power, the subject of prophets and prophecy seems remote and abstract. Yet the Bible prophets have contributed something basic and of great value to the welfare of mankind.

The record of the birth of Jesus may easily be regarded by many Christians as one of the outstanding stories in the Bible—by some, perhaps the greatest. In fact, our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, thought it fitting for Christian Scientists to hold in remembrance the birth of Jesus.

" The secret place of the most High," of which the Psalmist sings in the ninety-first Psalm, is not a cloister where truth is concealed, but the sanctuary of Spirit where God is revealed and where spiritual understanding gives dominion to man. The security of Mind, God, is man's freehold right.

The life of Christ Jesus was a perpetual prayer of love for God and gratitude for His goodness to His creation. When he was approaching the greatest test of his earthly ministry—his betrayal and crucifixion—the Way-shower called his disciples to sup with him.

Christian Science corrects humanity's material concept of man and reveals the man of God's creating—the spiritual, ideal man, who is God's likeness. The Christian Scientist learns to identify himself as this spiritual man, who coexists with God and is held intact, sinless, in a state of perfection by his Maker.

Life does not inhere in the body. Life is God, infinite consciousness, which is reflected by man, God's idea.

A Branch Church of Christ, Scientist, should be the most harmonious group on earth, for its membership is comprised of those who acknowledge the Principle of the universe to be divine Love. In Christ, the divine idea of sonship, all men are seen to have the same Father, all are knit together in one harmonious expression of Love.

In the first chapter of Genesis there is no mention of matter or of evil. Man is made in the image of God and the universe is good.

Prayer is the prelude to successful enterprise. In Christian Science no success is worthy of the name unless it is the result of honest, earnest, unselfed prayer.
