Of Good Report

Present-day examples of “whatsoever things are of good report” (Philippians 4:8)

Good holds on to you

Standing in my kitchen , packing up some last-minute things before a big move in a couple of days, I was anxiously awaiting the delivery of a couch. It was getting dark and we lived out in the country with poor cell service.

God met our family’s needs

During her final term in primary school, our daughter passed the national grade seven examinations with good points, despite interruptions throughout Zimbabwe, such as school closures, due to the pandemic.   We celebrated our daughter’s commendable academic performance, knowing that intelligence is from God and she reflects divine Mind’s intelligence—as do all of God’s children—which explained her positive results.

The right employee found

Whether we are facing problems at work, a relationship difficulty, or an illness, opening our thoughts to God’s angel messages can enable us to receive answers that lead the way to spiritual solutions. In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, who discovered Christian Science, defines angels, in part, as “God’s thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect” ( p.

Healing at a workplace

Many years ago when I worked at a technical training institute in my home city of Chandigarh, India, we were told there would be additional paid projects conducting programs for engineering colleges in the summer. No restrictions on God’s goodness

God’s love for His children is limitless; therefore, limitless possibilities are at hand for us to receive His blessings. That might seem hard to fathom during challenging times, but my husband and I had a lovely proof of God’s care and provision despite the restrictions imposed during the pandemic.

Upheld by Psalm 91’s promises

God keeps His promises! One such promise can be found in Psalms: “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways” ( 91:11 ). The ninety-first Psalm has been a favorite of mine since I first read it many years ago, and I especially love the references to God’s protective care for us through His angels.

How I found freedom from anger

One summer, when a friend and I were taking a vacation together, it became clear that we had completely different views and goals—so different that things she said and did hurt and annoyed me. In retrospect these differences were trivial, as I no longer even remember what they were.
