Testimonies of Healing

A FEW YEARS AGO, I experienced the powerful and immediate healing effect of Christian Science prayer. At a high school where I used to work, I was privileged to help coach the junior varsity track team.

MANY YEARS AGO, I began to notice that the eyesight in one of my eyes was deteriorating. At first I was alarmed and really prayed, claiming my spirituality and unbreakable relation to God—but more from a standpoint of fear than conviction.

A FEW SUMMERS AGO, we took a family vacation to Cabo San Lucas in Baja California, Mexico. At the tip of Baja where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez, the waters are very rough, to the point that swimming is now not permitted on the Pacific Ocean side.

I WAS INVITED to give a speech on an inspirational topic of my choice at a meeting of a Christian Science Nursing organization. While I was preparing to give this talk, I prayed to resist seeing it as an opportunity to show off what I knew.

ONE EVENING, about ten years ago, I was stricken with severe pain in my lower back and abdomen. Having been raised in Christian Science, my first inclination was to pray for myself.

AT THE AGE OF FIFTEEN, I opened a book, given to our family by a Christian Scientist, that had sat unread for years on our living room bookshelf. I'd been seeking answers to questions about God and life for several years, and that book, Science and Health, brought answers.

DURING MY FIRST two years of college, I was involved with a variety of activities. In addition to classes, I was part of the cross-country team, track team, jazz band, Christian Science organization, and student government.

SINCE BEGINNING my work in studying Christian Science, I've had many good things happen to me and am very grateful for the opportunity to understand more about spiritual healing. I've had many healings, but one recently has stuck out as having a big impact in my life.
