Testimonies of Healing

About a year ago, just a week before I was to begin my second Christian Science nursing course, I went to the beach to have fun with my younger sister’s family, who had come to Cameroon on vacation. When we arrived at Kribi, a large resort town and seaport, we headed to the beach to swim.

When my son Jeff passed away about a year and a half ago, he was not a practicing Christian Scientist and was under medical treatment. He was interested in Christian Science, having been raised in a home where Christian Science was practiced, but he never fully accepted its teachings to the point of practicing them for himself.

I am so grateful for the many wonderful healings my family and I have had in Christian Science through prayer. The following healing that I would like to share proved to be one of the most important turning points in my life.

When my oldest daughter was about four years old, a skin disease appeared on her face. Since I was raised with Christian Science and had seen many healings in my life by understanding my spiritual identity as God’s child, I felt comfortable praying about this situation.

When the author realized he could only reflect the Mind of Christ, his sense of love and peace increased, and he experienced healing.

I used to drive about an hour each way to my place of work. I would usually spend the beginning of this time thinking prayerfully in preparation for the day, sometimes addressing something specific in my own thought, or issues going on in the world that I felt needed prayerful attention.

After church one Sunday, my husband was playing with our daughter, who was about two at the time. At one point he was swinging her around, and when he brought her down to the ground, her foot hit the cement very hard.

As the author discovers that the real substance of her life is Spirit, God—fearful thoughts dissipate, and she experiences healing.

After I found Christian Science, I experienced many blessings, including healings of high blood pressure, job issues, a lump in my breast, chronic headaches, and seasonal ailments.   I want to share an instantaneous healing of a knee injury.

I started my journey in Christian Science when I retired from the Army in 2004. I joined The Mother Church and our branch church and attended class instruction.
