Testimonies of Healing

Free and active after a fall

From the November 2020 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Jarring events are always opportunities for healing. In my experience, some healings have been instantaneous; others have felt like peeling away the layers of an onion to get to the heart of the issue—to demonstrate the eternal, changeless fact of perfect God and perfect man.

I’d like to share a healing that took steady, earnest prayer over a few weeks, but helped me gain a better understanding of the nature of divine Love, and each of us as the reflected image of Love.

A couple of years ago, I fell off the top of a short stepladder. I tried to cushion the fall with my left hand and arm but landed hard on my left side. My husband heard the commotion and came to my aid, but I thanked him and asked to be left alone so I could pray quietly even before trying to get up.
