CALMNESS OF TRUTH

From the December 1884 issue of The Christian Science Journal

All truth is calm,
Refuge and rock and tower;
The more of truth the more of calm,
Its calmness is its power.

Calmness is truth,
And truth is calmness still ;
Truth lifts its forehead to the storm,
Like some eternal hill.

Perception of Truth is oneness with God.—

Beneath the stroke of life's changes,
The mind that shaketh not,
Without grief or passion, and secure,
This is the greatest blessing.

On every side are invincible,
They who stand like this
On every side they walk in safety,
And this is the greatest blessing.
