Mrs. Editor,—The following letter, from a prominent lady of Illinois, furnishes a hint of the great good resulting from the circulation of your publications in the North West; not only in a sanitary sense but as a moral check to the scurrilous reports of unscrupulous parties in Boston, who hesitate not to use the letter of your College Text-book, which you frankly publish, and forget to credit you with its authorship: but would defame a spotless character as per example.
Publisher "Journal of Christian Science."
Dear Sir:—The Christian Science which your journal treats, is creating an interest in Chicago. A few weeks ago, a certain Mr. C. of this city went to Boston, for the purpose of studying the science referred to. The result was, he studied with a certain Mr. Arens. Last evening, a copy of your journal of October 6, 1883, accidently fell into my hands. In it was that article "Infringment of Science and Health" which told of Mr. A's offences and accounted for the stories against Mrs. Eddy, which Mr. C— had brought directly from Mr. A.—.
