Christian Scientists' Church and Association Notes

From the July 1885 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Scientist denomination, in Boston, were addressed by their pastor, Rev. M. B. G. Eddy, Sunday, June 14, on The Theology of Christian Science. The large congregation filling even the aisles and hallways of their place of worship, listened with deep interest to her clear, close argument showing that the healing power of Christian Science is inseparable from, and identical with its Theology.

From 1 Cor. ii. 14, E. H. Hammond, drew some valuable lessons for his fellow students, Sunday June 7th: "Paul saw clearly the distinction between matter and spirit which Christian Scientists are endeavoring to explain to our age. The baptism of the Holy Spirit was his unfoldment from natural to spiritual perception. The natural mind accepts the evidences of the senses only, and if un-taught of spiritual facts, inevitably becomes materialistic. Science demonstrates the omnipotence of mind, and leads the way out of the prison of the senses to Christ, the only Truth.
