The Wrath Of Man Shall Praise Thee

From the July 1885 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I had not known of the new metaphysical medical practice till I read of it in the interesting (?) letters of Prof. L. T. Town-send, published in Zion's Herald last winter. All re-forms are attacked by existing forms for self preservation. You can hardly expect, then, to go unscathed, if you come out on the radical ground that preaching the gospel and healing the sick go hand in hand—and that Mind governs material phenomena.

I mean to try C. S. for my own infirmities, just from the information furnished by the contemptuous letters of Prof. T. Please send me some printed pamphlets or works on the subject, if there are any.

Readers of "Christian Science Journal":

Do not take the persecutions you are now enduring at all to heart. If your work be of God it will stand. "So persecuted they the prophets which were before you." The present state of intolerance toward new departures has been made almost necessary by the operations of impostors in the past.
Faithfully yours,
