The Pioneer, published in this place, gives an account of the good work of Mrs. F.J. Stetson, of the Metaphysical College, Boston.
She lectured on Mental Healing, at the Sanborn House, and "nearly everybody was pleased." Of course there was opposition, one clergyman taking the ground (as many did in Jesus' time) that Mrs. Stetson was able to heal through Beelzebub, the Prince of Devils,—whom many still believe to be a real personal being, even more powerful than God, whose purposes he continually thwarts.
A special cure was wrought on Mrs. Henry Shortbridge, of North Wakefield, who had suffered with asthma for twenty years, and with a complication of other diseases for eight months, being much of the time confined to her bed. Physicians could give no relief, but the lady is now cured.
