Having received so much benefit from the testimonies in the Journal and Sentinel, I send mine, hoping it may cheer some struggling heart.
At the birth of our last baby, which took place in July, I received treatment from no one; but through the understanding of Christian Science which I had gained, I was enabled to demonstrate for myself. I sat up in bed that same afternoon, and the next day I was dressed and sat up a while in the morning and also in the evening. This was repeated the next day, and the morning following I remained up, and before the week over I was helping with the work as usual. We came home in a lumber wagon, a distance of about eighteen miles, when the baby was just two weeks old.
I find that a right understanding of God not only frees us from physical ills, but that if the truth is honestly sought it will be found applicable to every human condition. I have mentioned but a few of the many blessings I have to be thankful for, but the greatest of all is the spiritual uplifting, which enables me to know that God is both able and willing to care for all His creatures, if we are but willing to do our part, and to bear the cross, which, though it seems heavy at times always brings a sure reward.
