The Christ idea which heals and saves is always active in human behalf, but "the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."
It is only in the light of Christian Science that we begin to appreciate the vast importance of a fuller, more comprehensive understanding of the word activity. The commonly accepted theory about action regards it as both physical and mental; and mental action being attributed to the brain, humanity looks to matter for all action.
This theory declares that the babe must be physically active to speed growth and development. In every walk of life activity is regarded as an essential, but on the suppositional basis of two entities, mind and matter, and this mind emanating from brain,—matter,—the sense of action is subject, in belief, to the same laws of discord, decay, and destruction which claim to govern all mortal existence.
