On commencing work again at the opening of school I...

From the May 1904 issue of The Christian Science Journal

On commencing work again at the opening of school I feel deeply grateful for the many blessings that have come to me through Christian Science. I have been healed of indigestion, constipation, and other troubles, and many ill effects resulting there from. For nearly two years I was so weak I could not ascend an ordinary flight of stairs without resting once or twice, and in walking on the street I kept close to the inside of the pavement, fearing I might be forced to lean for support or drop by the way. Now I can run upstairs and entertain no sense of weariness. "They shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint."

After treatment I was led to study Christian Science, and the newness of life that came with the unfoldment of truth was inexpressibly sweet. I have had the privilege of class instruction and rejoice in the ever-increasing knowledge of the truth that has made me free.

In June I had the pleasure of attending the Communion in Boston and received such inspiration that I resolved to spend my holidays in gaining a higher understanding of Christian Science. Divine Love satisfies our every longing, and these were the happiest holidays I have known. As Bayard Taylor says, I have "a hundred thousand shares in the Bank of Contentment."
