CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

From the December 1906 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Mason City (Ia.) Times Herald

Whatever may be one's opinion of the tenets of the Christian Science faith, one cannot fail to feel a thorough respect for the manner in which the believers in those teachings conduct themselves when their Cause is made the subject of unjust and brutal attack.

Such an experience has just come to that organization, and the country at large is afforded another opportunity to learn how these people bear the onslaughts of those who would destroy Christian Science influence in the world.

No bitter replies have been made to the charge that the head of the Church is a fraud, and has been imposing on her followers.

No counter-charges, no threat of libel suits. The Church simply points to proof of the falsity of the declarations and goes its way quietly and uncomplainingly.

There may be other religious organizations which would practise equal forbearance under similarly aggravating circumstances, but we do not recall any similar instance anywhere else.—Mason City (Ia.) Times Herald.
