In 1896 I met with an accident in which my left arm was severely injured. A surgeon set the joint, but it did not stay in place. He continued to work with it until I was convinced he had done all in his power to help me, but the arm was useless. I then went to one surgeon after another, with exactly the same result, until I had been treated by five, and the unanimous verdict was that nothing could be done for me but to have the elbow joint held in position by a silver band, which would be no help so far as the use of the arm was concerned.
I was in this condition when I presented myself to a Christian Science practitioner in Ottawa, where I was at the time taking a course at a business college, preparatory to earning a livelihood with one arm; my left arm being useless, to continue farming was out of the question. In about ten days I could use my arm somewhat, and in three weeks it was as good as ever. I returned to farming and have been able to use my left arm equally with the other ever since. My healing was in the autumn of 1898. I shall be glad at any time to give grateful testimony and details of my wonderful healing through Christian Science. After I was able to go to work and earn the money with my hands, I paid fifteen dollars for my treatment.
