In March, 1906, I had a very serious eye trouble. I consulted one of the Christian Science practitioners in Philadelphia, and she advised me to read Science and Health and to rely wholly upon God, the Great Physician, for help. She also referred me to the gist Psalm. I followed her advice, as I could read a little each day with glasses, and in three months the obstructions were entirely removed. As I read and thought of the beautiful teachings of this book, I was made very happy in the realization of the power and inspiration of divine Love; indeed my happiness seemed complete. The thought of the "straight and narrow way," looking neither to the right nor to the left, was a great help to me. I only looked up—up to the great light of Truth. I seemed to see nothing but God, and His love surrounding me, filling me with sweetest confidence and trust. Science and Health took me all the way to this light, and I am truly grateful and thankful to the author of this wonderful book, which is helping to pave the way for the kingdom of heaven on earth, the new spiritual era which is even now in sight.
