I am very thankful for what Christian Science has done...

From the February 1907 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am very thankful for what Christian Science has done for me, as can readily be understood when my condition before trying it is known. I had not been feeling well for years, and had taken medicine most of the time. Two years ago last April I came to California. In May I got worse, and was forced to take to my bed and send for a physician. He told me I was a very sick woman and must go to a hospital. This I did not like to do, as I would have to leave my family; so we sent for another physician, who began a milder treatment, since I was very nervous and had frequent sinking-spells. Under his care I improved for a time; then became worse than ever. This forced us to call in a third physician, who began a different course of treatment, but an abnormal growth was said to be increasing in size, while I became weaker and weaker under his energetic methods. We then called in still another physician, who treated me for several weeks, but without effect, and he finally informed my husband that he could do nothing more for me and advised a trip up the coast. This was impossible; so as a last resort we called in a Christian Science practitioner, and in less than two weeks I was perfectly healed. The obstruction entirely disappeared, and I have never had a sinking-spell since my first day's treatment.

Many difficulties have been overcome through my earnest study of Christian Science and the kind help of a practitioner. I hope that I may be able to express somewhat the love which I have for God, and for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy.—
