One afternoon last October the family of Mr. G. Seauterey was poisoned, supposedly from having eaten mushrooms. The husband had gone to his work and the wife and daughter were both in great agony. The daughter staggered to my room and asked me to come and treat them. I quickly seized my Bible and Science and Health and went to their rooms. I found the mother on the floor and the daughter on her bed in her room. At first fear crept in, as they told me that they were dying; but immediately the picture of Daniel in the lions' den was before me, and I knew its meaning,—to turn my back on fear, for God was with me and I needed no other help. I began to declare the truth, and after about fifty minutes I saw that peace had been established with the mother, for there was not another groan. Then I again went to the daughter, who was still in great pain. She could not speak, but in a few minutes she, too, was restored. Then the father came home. He said he had had a similar attack, but he had applied Science immediately and was healed. The healing of the mother and daughter was perfect. In the evening the mother came to my room and said that they were so perfectly healed that they could go out, for not a particle of soreness remained.
For this beautiful demonstration which God has made through me, I am truly thankful, and also to our Leader for the years of toil she has spent in fathoming the Scriptures and being able to make them so clear to us that we may know man's relation to God.
