I am glad of the opportunity to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. In October, 1906, I was stricken down by a bad attack of rheumatic trouble, suffering intense pain and at night in particular. I could not even get about the house without the help of a strong stick. My usual medical attendant could give me no hope of being able to attend to business for at least a fortnight or three weeks under the most favorable circumstances, and he feared it might take three months, this disease being so uncertain in its developments. Under these circumstances, and having already witnessed the wonderful benefits that my dear wife and daughter had experienced through Christian Science during the last four years, I determined to seek similar treatment, with the result that I was relieved from all acute pain, got restful sleep, and within four days from the first treatment I was able to walk a little and get out of doors to attend to my business engagements. This necessitated much railway traveling and long drives on outside cars, exposed to all conditions of weather, but there were no ill effects and I have since had no return of the trouble. Indeed I may say that with the exception of a light attack of pain in my feet, which yielded after one treatment, I have enjoyed perfect health. So much for the physical aspect, but in addition I should like to state that mentally Christian Science has brought me many blessings in freedom from business anxieties, through a greater dependence on the giver of all good. For all this I feel deeply grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, by whose means the blessing of Christian Science has been made known to suffering humanity.—William Roe, Dublin, Ireland.
