My grandson was healed in Christian Science in this city between six and seven years ago. Previously he had been bedfast four months, coughing almost constantly. He also had a discharge from his side near the lungs. He became slightly better, however, was able to be about somewhat in a hunchback condition, and then was taken worse. The physician attending him had him taken to the homeopathic hospital and a specialist from Philadelphia came and examined him to ascertain whether an operation could be performed. At the time of this examination the conditions were very distressing. The case attracted much attention, and the staff physicians were present at this examination, as the doctors said there had been only two such cases on record. The verdict of the consultation was that he was too weak to have the operation performed; that there would be only one chance in ten of his surviving it. His mother then learned of Christian Science, and took him to a Christian Science practitioner and stated the case, adding that nothing which he ate would stay on his stomach. The practitioner treated him, and told him to go home and eat a good dinner. He came to my home, ate a very hearty dinner, and to my knowledge has never been troubled by his food since that time. The first night he coughed a little, the second night he coughed none, slept well all night, and has not been disturbed since. In five weeks the abscess in his side was healed. No sign of any disease has returned, and he has now been well between six and seven years.
