Sincere gratitude impels me to testify to the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. I turned to it some two and a half years ago, while in a desperate condition, when friends who could not stand my distress any longer advised me to give it a trial. I was suffering with an abdominal trouble which caused me great pain, and I felt very much depressed mentally, which made it very difficult for those surrounding me. I could not consent to an operation, though there seemed to be no other way of getting help, and my mother, who for several years had been mentally ill, was also in a wretched condition at that time. I then asked for treatment in Christian Science, read the Herold and other literature assiduously, and it became clear to me at once that this was the truth which makes us free. After a practitioner took up treatment for me, I felt God's help and regained my former health, for which I am deeply thankful to God. My mother, too, was treated, and I am happy to see the results manifested in her condition, which formerly seemed hopeless. My sister also turned to Christian Science last winter, and was treed of a foot trouble which for years had caused her severe pain.
My healing was slow, yet I was conscious all the time of the power of divine Love, and knew that faithfulness and obedience toward divine Principle is the only way in which we can be freed of all our suffering. I wish with all my heart that this glorious truth might be revealed to all people. We are infinitely grateful to God, and also to Mrs. Eddy, for all the good which comes to us.
