Christian Science has been so much to me the past two years, that I hardly know how to begin to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received. I was healed over nine years ago of lung trouble, with complications of kidney disease and rheumatism. The lung trouble was so serious that I was given up, as there was no help for me in materia medica, although I had the most eminent doctors that were available. My suffering was intense. I had a severe cough night and day, with much pain, and it must have been a source of great annoyance to my dear friends, though no one made a complaint.
I was healed instantaneously by a Christian Scientist, a friend of mine, who spoke with authority the "Peace, be still," of Love and Truth, and I was made whole. I have not coughed from that hour. My family thought it very strange that I did not cough any more, as all feared the end was to be soon. I was not then in Science and did not know what it was, but I am very thankful to God, and deeply grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the divine precepts given for her followers, which enable them to live the truth. I did not then understand what Love and Life meant, but I was awakened, like Lazarus, from sleep. I thank God for the divine manifestation, for divine Love, and for my dear Christian Science friends, who helped me to gain the knowledge of divine Love that I never knew before. May I live to be a true Scientist.
