Over two years ago I was brought to Christian Science for the healing of a most severe attack of nervous and mental illness. It seemed that there was only misery for myself and all those around me. Our home physician said he could do nothing for me, and advised us to try Christian Science, but there were no Scientists in our community and we knew nothing about it. We tried several physicians, and as one recommended a lower altitude we prepared to try this, but I became so ill that it was impossible. Friends then urged me to try osteopathy, which was tried for some time, although I had to leave my home to do so. I became so much worse, however, that finally I went home.
Christian Science was again recommended, and as a last resort I again left home to try it. I went unwillingly, feeling that it would be of no help. I had never heard of Christian Science before my illness, and was a very slow student, but through the patient work of a good practitioner I finally began to improve and went home. I took absent treatment for some time, constantly feeling better. Later, when my baby was born (I was then taking treatment), I was able to get up the fourth day, and although every one predicted that I would have to go back to bed, I continued to improve so rapidly that all who saw me noticed how well I looked.
I have been well ever since, although some minor ailments have been overcome for myself and baby by the reading of the good book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I cannot express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I like to read the Journal and Sentinel, and believe it is the truth which makes us free.— Morgan, Utah.
