I first heard of Christian Science about seven years ago, from a fellow passenger on my way out to India. My growth in the understanding of its teachings has been slow, but gradually the spirit of Truth is being revealed to me, and just as fast as I am capable of using it, the power of Truth is making itself felt. The knowledge of Christian Science has entirely changed my outlook on life; it has opened up an endless prospect of progress and joy, and made life full of unceasing interest.
I wish specially to tell of the help I received when my baby boy was born. A Scientist friend was with me at the time, and all went harmoniously, the whole experience lasting less than two hours. There were conditions present which the doctor said might have caused the death of the child, had the birth not been so quick, and my gratitude to God for Christian Science is very great. This is the first experience of the kind which I have had in Christian Science, and I can truthfully say that the birth was easier, my recovery quicker, and the sequent state of health better than on any previous occasion. The child is a fine, thriving boy, so merry and bright, and my heart is full of gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who was pure enough to see this great truth, which Jesus first brought to humanity, and brave and strong enough to tell it to a weary, waiting world.— Edinburgh, Scotland.
