It is with heartfelt joy and gratitude that I testify to the healing power of Christ, as revealed in Christian Science. Some four years ago, I was a hopeless invalid, suffering from a so-called malignant and incurable disease. After being under a specialist's treatment for three years, I gradually grew worse, until he admitted there was no longer any hope for me and that I had not long to live. My mother, in her grief and despair, called in another physician, who agreed to the utter hopelessness of my case from the standpoint of materia medica, but recommended that we try Christian Science.
A practitioner was sent for immediately, and a copy of Science and Health was given me to read. I began to improve from the first treatment, and on the third day I was able to walk without pain. I gained very rapidly, and in three weeks the disease was entirely gone. I was also healed of the drug habit, giving up an opiate taken to relieve suffering.
Through my healing, the family became interested in Christian Science, and my father was soon healed of the tobacco habit of many years' standing, through the reading of Science and Health. The physical healing was truly wonderful and much to be grateful for, but the spiritual light, joy, and peace which I experienced with the healing is beyond words to express.
