I would like everybody to know about my wonderful healing. About three years ago I met with an accident as I was working in a machine shop. I do not know just how it happened, but the men that were working beside me found me lying on the floor unconscious, and took me to the hospital. I had one brother in town at that time, and when they sent word to him he came to the hospital to see me, but I was still unconscious. He asked the doctor all about me, and the doctor said there was very little hope of my recovery.
My brother had previously been healed of stomach trouble, and my mother greatly benefited, through Christian Science, so he thought the only way to save my life would be to try Christian Science. He went to see a practitioner and I had treatment for four weeks. I was unconscious for five days, and when I came to I felt good and asked for something to eat. They only gave me a little soup, and I told my brother, who called three times a day, that they were letting me starve. I suppose the doctor was afraid that my jaw might be displaced again. I improved so rapidly that I surprised them all, and I was very anxious to get out of the hospital, but the doctor insisted upon my staying another week. When they finally took me out, I went to the place where I was boarding with my brother, and there I ate my first breakfast. Just then the practitioner came to see me, and I felt so well that I told him I would go and visit my parents, who live about twenty miles from the city, for some weeks. This I did the third day, and stayed there for about four weeks. I gained very rapidly, ate whatever I pleased, and felt as strong as ever.
I went back to work at the same place, and those who saw me when I was hurt could hardly believe that it was I back again, as they thought I would never recover. It was just seven weeks from the time I was hurt until I was back to work again. Since this experience I have lost no time at all on account of sickness, and I have been attending the Christian Science church quite regularly and have enjoyed life much more than ever. I am very thankful to God, also to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for this truth, which has helped me so wonderfully. — Milwaukee, Wis.
