It is with a feeling of love and gratitude to God that I wish to add my testimony to the many given in the Journal, for they have been very helpful to me. Christian Science has been our only remedy for over three years, and has healed the members of our family of various ills. It would take many pages to tell all that this truth has done for us. My sister had whooping-cough when she was small and we always thought that it affected her eyes, for they became very badly inflamed, so that she could not rest at night. Everything was tried that we could hear of, but she seemed to grow worse all the time.
A friend then told us of Christian Science and asked us to try it, so my sister went to a practitioner, who loaned her a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. We began to study it, together with the Bible, and we soon found that it was the truth taught by Christ Jesus when he was here on earth. My sister's eyes have not hurt her since she came into Science. My father was a great user of tobacco in all its forms, but all desire for it has left him. He was not a drunkard, but he was traveling very fast in that direction. That has, however, been overcome by the truth; he has not touched a drop of liquor for over three years.
We find Christian Science a great help to us in every walk of life. There is more peace, love, and harmony in our home; many ills of the flesh have been overcome, such as colds, fevers, headache, etc. Christian Science has not only healed our bodies, but has made better Christians of us. I cannot in words express my gratitude for the healing power of divine Love, but I hope my life will prove it. These few words of acknowledgment are given with the sense of a debt long overdue and with the earnest wish that they may help some one who is seeking the truth.— Coleman, Ark.
