The truth of being, realized by patient and practitioner, brings freedom from all that is opposed to health and harmony. This great truth, demonstrated through the understanding of Christian Science, destroys false belief, the seem-to-be mists and misapprehensions of mortal sense, and as we advance step by step on our journey, we understand that in proportion as the belief of life in matter is thus destroyed by the realization of the truth, we are lifted above all earth-clouds and rise into that clearer view which our Leader has so beautifully termed the "range of fetterless Mind" (Science and Health, p. 84).
I am very grateful to divine Truth for Christian Science. I arose one morning very much put out with things in general and myself in particular, and I firmly resolved never again to take medicine. All unknown to myself, this was the first step in truth; and it was a great step to take, after having used medicine continuously for fifteen years. I had come to believe that for me to do without it was impossible, and I can never forget the immediate benefit received from my first treatment in Christian Science, neither can I find words to express my gratitude for the physical healing which followed a few more treatments.
Tubercular trouble, ulcerated stomach, defective vision, uninterrupted headache of years' duration, an intensified sense of fear and worry, and many other ills, vanished after a few treatments. It is a great joy to understand why one is not bound by these fleshly "fetters, for after a little we understand that they are only false beliefs.
