Testimonies of Healing

I feel it a duty to express my...

From the December 1913 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I feel it a duty to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science. I have been a practising physician for over thirty years, and feel exceedingly grateful for the overcoming through Truth of the belief that medicine has power to heal disease. About five years ago I began to study the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and became interested at once. At this time I was almost at the height of my professional success, but after having studied a short time, I noticed a very perceptible falling off in the number of my patients, until finally no one called. I did not become alarmed, for I felt that God was guiding me in some way. The money I had saved was finally all used, but an old stomach trouble from which I had suffered as long as I can remember had disappeared, while a desire for alcoholic beverages was also overcome. I recognized that Truth was working out the destruction of my diseased beliefs, and as a natural result I became more and more encouraged, pressing on with an eager desire to learn more of this truth that was doing me so much good. I am now enjoying good health and becoming happier each day.

I am thankful to God for the many blessings I have received, and also grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for our Christian Science textbook and for showing us the way to Truth.—
