In the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy we read (p. vii): "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, today is big with blessings," and I can testify that this statement has been proven true in my experience. Two years ago, sickness and trouble brought us into Christian Science, that is, to a better understanding of the truth about God and man. A practitioner explained this teaching to us, and through patience and perseverance on her part we are now happier and better in every way. Since that time we have had no medicine of any kind in the house. We have three children, but the baby was born after we took up Science, and he has never had any material remedies.
Some time ago, my sister, who is not a Scientist, after undergoing an examination, was pronounced by the doctors to be in a very critical state. She had a goiter, and they stated that an operation must be performed at once. She was in a very nervous, run-down condition, but she was told that if the operation were delayed, it could not be done at all. Upon hearing this, I wrote to the Scientist who had helped us, and she began treatment for my sister at once. In about ten days my sister arrived at the hospital, where she underwent the regular course of examination; but her heart was pronounced in perfect condition, and the goiter had become of little consequence.
It is difficult to tell how thankful we were and are every day for this healing truth, but we have a deep feeling of gratitude to God for the blessings received in Christian Science.— Columbia Falls, Mont.
