So many blessings have come to me through the wonderful healing power revealed in Christian Science, that I feel it a duty as well as a privilege and pleasure to give this testimony. When this message of truth was first brought to me, it found me in quite a hopeless condition, having suffered from childhood with what materia medica diagnosed as lung trouble. After having spent some time in the South in search of health, also after trying physicians of different schools and receiving very little relief and encouragement, I can joyfully say that after a few months' study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was entirely healed of lung trouble; also I was healed of deafness of the right ear, which was supposedly caused by a severe attack of fever, and which had been a source of great annoyance to me for several years. Soon after I took up the study of Christian Science, I was enabled to discontinue the use of glasses, which specialists had said it would be impossible for me ever to do. I was also healed of female trouble, a bowel disorder, and an extreme nervous condition which had been the cause of untold suffering and unhappiness.
It would be impossible to recount all the blessings derived from this healing truth, as I have been benefited physically, morally, spiritually, and financially, and it would be difficult to find words to express, even in part, the love and gratitude I feel toward our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving to the world this new-old truth which is enabling me to gain a spiritual understanding of the Bible; that the great Physician is always with us, ever ready to heal and to save, and that "with God all things are possible." I am indeed thankful to God for the understanding I have gained, which enables me to prove daily and hourly that "Truth is revealed. It needs only to be practised" (Science and Health, p. 174). It has also been a source of great pleasure to realize that Christian Science is not alone for a favored few, but that "whosoever will" may come and drink at this fountain of living water.— WilkesBarre, Pa.
