We were spending the summer of 1910 at Asbury Park, N. J., when our boy, who was eight years old, developed symptoms of a nasal growth which seriously interfered with his breathing, and also caused an aggravated condition in his throat of which he complained not a little. Two physicians of standing in different western cities had previously declared, after examination, that the growth in the nasal passages would have to be removed by a surgical operation, as that was the only remedy. A Christian Science practitioner in Asbury Park was appealed to for help, and a few days after treatment was begun the child had a severe nosebleed, during which the growth came entirely away, being plainly noted at the time by me. The relief to the child was immediate, and there has been no recurrence of the trouble. For this evidence of the absolute and complete healing power of divine Truth we are deeply grateful.
This same child was supposed to have been born with an incurable heart trouble. Physicians and surgeons of high standing in their profession were unable to offer any hope of effecting a cure, some of them saying the child could live only a short time, while others declared he might live for a year or two. His general physical appearance was that of a child in a weakened and somewhat emaciated condition. All hope of relief from material means being abandoned as a result of the statements of the physicians, recourse was had to Christian Science treatment, and in a short time the boy was completely healed. Today he manifests health and is pronounced almost physically perfect, for he is especially active in all sports indulged in by boys of his age. He regularly attends the Christian Science Sunday school.— Allston, Mass.
