After opposing Christian Science for some years I was finally induced to accept it on account of a wondrous healing that I had from the result of a bad accident. I had been playing cricket, and in running I sustained a serious injury to my leg. I fell to the ground and was carried indoors; my leg was strapped up in a bandage and I was ordered by the doctor to get home as quickly and as comfortably as I could. He also said that it would be some weeks before I was well, and that I would be in great pain for some time.
After two days, during which I was almost helpless and in extreme pain, I met a Christian Scientist who offered to help me. I accepted the offer, and treatment at once commenced. After the first treatment I was able to take off the bandage and stand without it. After three days I could walk about quite comfortably with the help of a stick, and by the end of a week I was completely and entirely healed. This happened nearly four years ago, and from that day to this that leg has been as sound as the other.
Previous experience of my own, and experience since then on the part of others, has shown me that nothing but divine Love could have accomplished such a healing in so short a time, and I am deeply grateful. I became a convinced Christian Scientist from that moment and have never looked back. I realize the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494), as I have experienced this, I may say, in a hundred different ways during the last few years.— Mark Cross, Sussex, England.
