Testimonies of Healing

With a deep sense of gratitude, I...

From the October 1914 issue of The Christian Science Journal

With a deep sense of gratitude, I feel it my duty to tell those who may be wandering in the wilderness as I was, that Christian Science does heal us, both physically and spiritually, if we are willing to leave all for Christ, and follow him who said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

For many years I had been an invalid, suffering from what materia medica called neuralgia of the muscles. I was told to stay in a reclining position from sixteen to eighteen hours each day. For two years the pain seemed to center around my heart, causing frequent fainting spells, and sleepless nights; the pain at times seemed greater than I could bear. I had tried different methods of healing and a number of physicians of Milwaukee, but all left me without a ray of hope, and my family was in constant anxiety as to what might next happen. Everything that loving hands could do was done for me, but I felt as one without hope or God. I was a church-member for twenty years, but found no saving power there, and I can truly say that "man's extremity is God's opportunity," for Christian Science was presented to me and I was healed in a short time.

I can truthfully say that my healing is permanent, and I am striving to know more of this demonstrable truth that made me free.
