About ten years ago I began to read our text book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I was not seeking physical healing, but I was unconsciously searching for a better understanding of God, although at that time a member of an orthodox church. This true knowledge of God, good, and of man as His child, I found through the study of Science and Health. From the first I had proof of its application to human needs, in instances of healing both for myself and for other members of the family who were becoming interested in Christian Science. This encouraged me to go on, and since that time Truth has been my only physician. It has not only healed me when I had need of it, but has been a great preventive of ills. Several times I have had help from a practitioner, but very often the need has been met through my own work in Science.
Among the ills overcome were severe headaches, a difficult case of dentistry, heavy colds and fever, which were quickly banished, also a stomach and bowel disorder. A fear of lack, and continual manifestation of it in financial affairs, is steadily being overcome, and we are learning to prove the truth of what our Leader says on page 507 of Science and Health, "Spirit duly feeds and clothes every object, as it appears in the line of spiritual creation, thus tenderly expressing the fatherhood and motherhood of God."
Words seem feeble when Scientists try to express their gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, who through unselfed and unceasing labor has made all this possible. I am likewise very grateful for the kindness and watchful care shown me, and for our inspiring periodicals, the Journal, Sentinel, and Monitor. I never read one of our periodicals, even for a few minutes, without being conscious of some good received, some cloud dispelled. Thank God for these many evidences of divine Love.— Brookline, Mass.
