Eight years ago I was healed of lung trouble through Christian Science. I had given up my position, and for two months had been confined to my room, most of the time to my bed. Some days I was not able to sit up at all. I ate very little, and could not sleep well because of frequent coughing spells and a smothering sensation when lying down. I cannot tell any one how I suffered. The physician came twice a day to see me, but his medicine did not give me even temporary relief and I was getting weaker daily. Neither friends nor physician gave me any hope of recovery, and I became terribly depressed.
Then I was asked to try Christian Science. A practitioner was called for me, and after the first treatment I was greatly relieved. I felt no more depression, for I realized the assurance of the ninety-first psalm, "I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him." After the third treatment I was able to go to the practitioner's office alone, and in three weeks was completely healed and went back to my work a well and happy girl. The spiritual understanding of Life, Truth, and Love which I had gained through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," was a star of hope shining brightly over my pathway, where before had hung dark clouds of sickness and fear.
